Create a Data View that brings together (combines, links, or joins) multiple data sources or data views. For example, combine zip code demographic data and your own data with a zip code column.
- Click on the button “Combine New Data” under the Combine box.
- Give your Data View a Title. Click the toggle for on or off if you want to make this data public.
- Select the Data Source you’d like to start with. The Columns section and Preview Table on the right will automatically populate with that data source.
- Below Data Source, click Add Join to join additional data to the original data source. For example, here we will join ZIP code geospatial (geometry) data to the selected data source : NYC tree census data the contains a zip code column, indicating the zip code where the tree is planted.
- On the left, select the original source (NYC Tree Census) and below that, the column that represents the shared column to combine or join on (zipcode).
- On the right, select the source you want to join or combine (NYC Zip Codes), and below that, select the column that represents the shared column to combine or join on (ZIPCODE).
- Click the button ADD JOIN.
- Choose the Columns that you want to include in your new combined Data View. Choose a Data Source on the left, then add the columns you want to feature in your Data View.
- Press the button Save Data View at the bottom of your page when ready to save.
- The Preview Table will populate and your Data Endpoints will save. You are now ready to further analyze, publish, or visualize this data.
