The first step in using data in Nectr is to upload a dataset.

  1. On the home page, click the button that reads “UPLOAD A NEW DATASET.”

  1. Click the button “+ NEW DATASET” to upload a new dataset or select a previously uploaded dataset from the available Datasets.

  1. Click the button “UPLOAD…” to select the dataset from your device to upload.
  2. Give your dataset a Title and Description in the provided boxes.

  1. Scroll down to see the Column names of the data you just uploaded. This will automatically populate based on your upload.

    1. Here you can edit or adjust the data type under “Type”. For data, choose from Text, Number, Date, Date and Time, Boolean. For geospatial data, choose from geometry options Well Known Text (WKT), GeoJSON, or Well Known Boundaries (WKB).

  2. Next you can edit the description of each column or variable. This can help you or others understand what each variable is showing.

  1. Toggle on or off the “Data Visible” toggle. Should this data be visible to the public? If yes, then toggle it on, to the right. If the data is sensitive, or you don’t want it availabel to the public yet, toggle it to the left, for no.

  2. Click the button “SAVE DATASET”.
